A few more experiments with infrared photography during a wekend in the Peak District. These were taken with a strong B&W filter on the Nockton 35mm f1.2 - not the true IR filter I now use on the 18mm Zeiss - so not as good IR, but these two quite good I think

Curious. I just started playing around with my M8 and IR photography (using a heliopan Infrarot 780 filter), and I haven't noticed the "hot spot" yet. I looked at this link and didn't see the lens listed that I have used (Tri Elmar 28-35-50), which by the way gives great results - I'll post some later when I figure out how to upload photos on this site.

Great forum and wonderful responses. I'm glad I found it!

Best to All,

Ralph

Here's a list of lenses showing which ones have hotspots or not:

Welcome to the forum Ralph and thanks for the info about the medium Tri-Elmar.

If you go to the "About the Leica Forum" forum you'll find a sticky thread from Andy Barton at the top of the page which tells you how to post images and their permissible sizes etc. Looking forward to some IR shots from the medium Tri-Elmar ... :)

Pete.
