Nahanni Posted March 24, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted March 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a #14198 Macro-Elmarit-R Adapter 1:1 for my Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f 2.8 lens. Both were bought new during late 1970s. I have not used the adapter for many years, but remember vaguely that either or both the lens and adapter have to be set to a certain aperture value before coupling them together. Failure to do so may cause damage. Can anyone help me with this and supply the correct instructions for coupling the lens and adapter?

Ivar B Posted March 24, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted March 24, 2008 You need to set the lens to the smallest f stop (22), when you mount the adapter.
Nahanni Posted March 25, 2008 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 25, 2008 Thank you, Just to make sure, I presume that I have to set f22 on BOTH the lens AND the adapter. Would that be correct?
Ivar B Posted March 25, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted March 25, 2008 Yes, unless I remember incorrectly. There is no danger of destroying something.
wildlightphoto Posted March 26, 2008 Share #5 Â Posted March 26, 2008 There's no need to set the aperture ring on the adapter to anything in particular. Lens, f/22. Adapter, doesn't matter.
