My battered 1963 M2 with 1979 50 f/2 and VC Meter.

Made with M8 + Visoflex 3 + 50 f/2 (I think or it could be 90 f.2.8). Hand held at ISO 2500. Post processed in LR and PS with Silver Efex.

That is a cool combo Stephen
I wonder why you would say that.

So do we need a poll? "What is the prettiest of all M?"

M2 - no doubt.

This is one of the highlights of industrial design in the 20th century. Everything else is slightly downhill from there.

@ nkhien: That's ehm, unusual. I feel like I am seeing the result of an operation stopped halfway. Are you actually using it this way? Are you not afraid it will catch something?

Thanks, Rob

Hi newbie to the world of RF here. Got my first M2 and will never sell it!!

It's a rangefinder restorations painted black body and CLA by Youxin Ye. Got it for a good deal. Now I just need to find a good Leica Lens.

Hi all, I did a search and it doesn’t look like we have a thread for this beautiful camera.
I recently acquired this example from Meister camera and am looking forward to putting a film through it.
The mechanical precision of the camera is amazing.  Easily on par with my M3.  The meter seems to be accurate based on comparing the readings I get from my Nikon F3.  The weight with lens and leather half case is about 1300 grams compared to about 950 for my M3 with leather half case, Voigtlander meter and Zeiss 50mm f2 planar.  The original leather half case is actually quite heavy at about 200g, but I like to use these to keep my cameras in mint condition.

      Why not?

After two months working with the M I can say: I love my M.
It sounds wonderful. It feels wonderful. Takes great pictures. And also thanks to Luigi it looks great!

Not sure I can "love" a mechanical object but, in the spirit of the forum, I thought I ought to start a new thread for Leica's new film camera. (In truth, I think the M-A is really a variation of the MP rather than a different camera but I suppose Leica would like us to see it differently). It is certainly a handsome camera and, strangely, the M-A also feels a very modern camera.

      ...open thread
Since I did not see any thread "I love my (Leica) M7" I'll open one, if you agree.

My M7, I mean my 2 M7, make me great service and to thank this camera for services rendered, I start to post you a picture of my latest
acquisition, instead of a M240. I "became allergic" to digital photos (edges and "smooth"* lines, "synthetic images"* for some pictures, "flat"
and "without consistency" * "perfectible color" (compared to film), all of this brings me to leave my two Leica M digital more and more at home,
now used as back up and my 2 M7 become my main camera, they accompany me everywhere even at 12,000 Kms from here.
Each M7 has its attached lens , with one camera b&w film, and the other color film !

Here's a photo of my M7, that I just prescribe for me as "anti-allergic"digital image !

I know there has been problems with DX , but in my case I have no problem with my two M7

I just bought fifty rolls of Kodak Portra (160 and 400) , and my supplier at Paris told me that this film works very hard, he sells a lot.
      Film is not dead !
      Best
      Henry

      * in italics, are the terms of my Leica Center consultant who retired this year , that I know him since the 1980s !
