My M2 has worked it’s way up the list to become the current camera in use.

I've been looking for a compact "travel" lens for a while, today I found this mint Elmar 2.8, it doesn't look like it has ever been used.

After 1.5 years without a Leica, I decided to turn things back to normal, sell digital gear except for the 📱 and have a decent camera for everyday use again. Earlier this week I took delivery of this completely refurbished and CLA’ed, late M2 model and marvellous cron 50 DR. Meister Kamera Hamburg sent it to me with treats for both the camera (a B/W film) and the customer (a chocolate 🍫). Yummie 😋

If I were reduced to one camera it would be the M2.  Mine was bought at a discount in 1968 with the introduction of the M4.  With over fifty years of use, as one might imagine, it is an extension of my mind's eye.  If I may pass on two tips, try to use 1/500 whenever possible.  It is easy with modern film, and Leica lenses show their superiority at wider apertures.  Secondly to avoid damaging the strap eyelets I use nylon blind cord.  Have fun.

I agree with this sentiment, I've only had my M2 for 2 years and I have many film cameras, but if I could only keep one it would be the M2, I take that camera everywhere.

I have been using my M2 since the mid 1960s almost exclusively (I also have a loved but not-much-used M3). Mostly a Rigid Summicron 50mm, with some use of a 90mm 3-element Elmar and a f3.5 Summaron. The M2 and Summicron will be the last to go before me. Sadly, most of my kit was stolen about 3 years ago. It was all replaced with almost identical bits, particularly the M2.

My M2, bought a couple of years ago cheap due to its lamentable state. Since sent for a cleanup and now working beautifully. Although you can’t see from this angle, around the rewind knob the chrome is very worn. This camera has had a few thousand rolls through it. I’d love to know where this camera has been and what it’s seen.
