Here is mine, second version from 1959, with Leicavit and Summaron 35mm f/2.8 also from 1959.

A beautiful camera, working like a chronometer, and still with its black "L" seal.

This is what the mailman brought yesterday...

Leica M2 (1958, still sealed and works buttery smooth!) with Leica-Meter MR.

Enjoy!

Cheers, Z.

Time for a thread bump. :)

New, as of yesterday, from our friend in Barton Arcade Manchester.

Big birthday next year as this is from a batch of 850 : 22/07/1959.

First film through already and I can still use a light-meter I found.

P.S. Should I crop as indicated ? :D :D

Wlifredo,

You will never, ever, regret it. A little trick - when setting the frame counter, load the camera and cock the shutter about 50%, and then set the frame counter to -2. The gears disengage and the counter disk moves freely. Then wind on fully (twice) and make pictures.

Cheers,

Michael

Thanks for that I hadn't heard of that before. On loading I've just found a BNIB (new old stock) rapid load adapter. It is amazing what there is out there.

This one I really enjoyed !! :) I use a MR meter sometimes with my M4-P (I know... "wrong" camera in this thread ;) ) but found it to give wrong readings (about one stop under-exposure). Can it be easily adjusted ?
