elansprint72 Posted January 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, what is this building? It is situated in the 2008 Capital of Culture. Persons residing within 20 miles of Liverpool are not allowed to participate. Apologies for the lack of a full range of tones; I'm trying to get to grips with PSE6, which is a little different from PSE4.

elansprint72 Posted January 25, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted January 25, 2008 Not exactly the same one (I think), afaik there are three (although I never was good with large numbers), all doing the same job, all slightly different and much more prosaic than a museum! Guest flatfour Posted January 25, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 25, 2008 Pete - I think it is the Georges Dock Ventilation Tower designed by Rowse. Pure luck as I am reading a book by A L Rowse entitled a Cornish Childhood and when searhing Rowse an architect came up.

Too easy, yes it is a ventilation shaft for the older tunnel under the River Mersey. I like the Manchester United idea.
