Viktor Long Posted 14 hours ago Share #1 Posted 14 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm thinking about buying a new camera recently. At present, I have the advanced Nikon Z f, and a Leica m8 for the nostalgic control experience. I prefer Leica Q because I am very good at using 28mm. However, Q's evf worries me with its outdated low display quality. I prefer evf to lcd. I also heard that Q's evf have bleeding problems, which may affect my user experience. I want to know, as an upgraded QP, is there any problem with the evf of QP? Don't tell me Q2. My budget can only afford QP at most. What I care about most may be the problem of evf bleeding. If it doesn't happen on QP, I can choose QP with confidence. Or should I buy a Ricoh GR4? This is a 28mm compact camera equipped with the latest technology, which has more powerful portability than Q. Thank you for your opinions!

Chris W Posted 9 hours ago Share #2 Posted 9 hours ago A lot of Leica tech issues are vastly overstated IMO. The original Q is an excellent camera. I never had any issues with the EVF display quality, it certainly ISN'T 'low quality'.
LocalHero1953 Posted 9 hours ago Share #3 Posted 9 hours ago If you buy the Ricoh, you will, at a stroke, eliminate any problems you might have with the EVF of the Q - it doesn't have one. You may choose to think about this before worrying about the EVF of the Q
JNK100 Posted 7 hours ago Share #4 Posted 7 hours ago The Ricoh is a nice camera but the lack of an EVF would rule it out for me.
NigelG Posted 7 hours ago Share #5 Posted 7 hours ago I have an original Q (type 116) and don’t notice any bleeding in the EVF. Unlike the M series where the “-P” designation models usually have upgraded features (sapphire screens, bigger buffers etc) the only difference AFAIK between the Q-P and the vanilla Q is the redesigned on/off/shutter assembly and the paint finish. The EVF/lens/sensor/processor etc are the same.

Have sold at least a dozen Q’s with none of these issues happening. It’s the internet… one person reports an issue and ten others jump on board complaining about the same issue…meanwhile hundreds of others are just going about their day, happily taking photos.
