I'm looking to buy my first M10 and found these two for around the same price. The m10-p is a beautiful black one (I love the black design) and the M10-r is a silver one. The problem with the silver one is that it has a scratch on the viewfinder (not sure how deep or what type of scratch as is not listed online in the site, but I can't see anything too big in the photos). My question: which one should I choose? Is it possible to repair? Would it cost too much to fix the viewfinder if its in bad shape?

Unless you get a great price break for the VF issue I wouldn't buy the R. If you don't repair it you may always feel it is tainted. If you do repair, there is both the cost and likely lengthy time you are waiting to get it back.

I have both an M10 and M10R. The P has the same quieter shutter as the R, which is what I notice most between my standard M10 and the R. While the R does have more resolution, the files take more time to work with, and on mine it seems the R has more noise at high ISO settings. For my use the "R" added pixels isn't much advantage.

My M10 is silver, which I prefer, while my R is black - which is more popular. If you prefer black and get the silver R it may make you dissatisfied in the long run.

In your case I'd go with the P model, having already tried an R and realizing that 24MP is all I need,

24 is all I need, indeed, and the M10-P is in excellent condition without scratches. I'm not sure what more I miss choosing the P instead of the R

There is one advantage to the R sensor that you may consider: if you use legacy wide-angle lenses that tend to produce colored edges on digital sensors, the R sensor is more resistant to this. I use an older VC 21mm f4.0 as my ultra-wide which is known to produce these variations. The M10 handles it quite well at lower ISO settings, so I seldom notice it, but the R sensor is better for this.

I think that would be stretching a little bit my usage of this camera. Not sure if this is a feature I'm interested in.
