ceo77 Posted 4 hours ago Share #1 Posted 4 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, I recently bought a used Leica Q3 in excellent overall condition. The autofocus works perfectly fine, and the “rattling” from focus hunting doesn’t bother me at all. What concerns me is the other noise that occurs when the lens moves during focusing — it sounds unusually loud to my ears. You can hear it clearly in the video I attached: Is this normal behavior for the Q3, or could it indicate a problem with the lens or focusing mechanism? Thanks a lot for your feedback! Best regards, Christian

jaapv Posted 4 hours ago Share #2 Posted 4 hours ago No that is not normal, as far as I can tell from the video. Send it in.
Qwertynm Posted 4 hours ago Share #3 Posted 4 hours ago sounds like a quack of a duck - doesn't sound normal
LocalHero1953 Posted 4 hours ago Share #4 Posted 4 hours ago I agree - or send it back for a refund. Looks like the lens hood has taken a couple of hits as well.
ceo77 Posted 4 hours ago Author Share #5 Posted 4 hours ago Overall condition is really very good. The cracks are quite minor ones and it does not seem that it was fallen down. However the noise is not acceptable. I will walk to a Leica store tomorrow, to see what they are saying.
