M262 Hard Shutter Press Fix?

Hi y’all’s,

 

My M262 of nearly 10 years finally went bad on me. I need a HARD press on the shutter to fire a shot. 

Any one know the potential problem? Is it something we can fix on our own without sending it into Leica? It takes too long to send into Leica and too $$.

I don't know about the m262 but the fix for the m10 was to tighten the ring that surrounds the shutter release.  Seems that over time and turning the off-on switch would tend to loosen that ring just a bit making it harder to press the shutter release far enough.
