I saw some speculation online about the battery life of the M EV1 with the EVF running - I can report that shooting all weekend, I never needed to recharge the battery.

Leica batteries are excellent - and I don't feel the need to buy a spare for the M EV1.

During the test phase, I took 50-200 pictures a day. Compared to the M11-P, I didn't notice any battery problems. However, I always switch off unnecessary power consumers (on all cameras).

That would be on the high end for most people shooting with M, I think. Which EVF/LCD mode and power saving settings did you use?

I never needed more than one battery per day, but I did not shoot that many images per day.

The battery usage is also very dependent how you use the camera when not shooting (wifi transfers, image browsing, menu usage, etc).
