Hey everyone,

I just shared a new video on my recent experience with the Leica Q3 43mm.

what started as excitement turned into an unexpected learning moment. I’m sharing it in case it helps anyone still deciding between the 28 mm and 43 mm versions.

Not a review, more of a reflection on inspiration, focal length, and creative growth.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Q3 43 and your way to the Q3 28. I can absolutely understand your feelings and it is very good to get to this point in photography, where you envision your work before you have even taken the camera out. And this in my opinion comes with the confidence one gets while trying to stay at one focal length. Great footage in your video and nice pictures! Keep up your good work!

I'm about the opposite of you.  I purchased a Q3 28 when it first came out and, while I loved the camera, it didn't give me what the M11 and 35mm or 50mm did. It was less of a complimentary camera and more of an extra camera to carry around.  I sold the Q and only carried my M11 and CL for a year.  When the Q3 43 came out I purchased one and sold the M11.  Then I wanted a bit more flexibility and purchased a Q2 to carry with my Q3 43 and/or my CL.  Now I felt complete as I use the 43 for most things but a Q3 28 for inner city shooting where alley's and tight shots are necessary.  In the end carrying a Q3 28 and Q3 43 cover over 90% of my shooting needs.  However, of those over 90% are done with the Q3 43.  

What I advise is for people to evaluate their preferred focal length by actually reviewing their past year of shooting by looking at the EXIF data from their shots and actually seeing what their most used focal length is.  If your average focal length used is less than 35 buy the Q2 or Q3. If, on the other hand, the average focal length used in your last year of shooting is greater than 35, buy the Q3 43.  Of course, if budget allows, buy both and you will have 28- ~90mm covered with 2 bodies and their respective lenses.  This, is still cheaper than buying one M11 and to Summicron Apo-ASPH lenses.
