Jan1985 Posted July 5 Share #1 Posted July 5 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does any L-mount manufacturer plan to make a zoom lens such as the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.0? That would be so nice. I know Sigma last year released the 28-45mm 1.8. But as a general purpose lens for wedding photographers the FL range is a bit too narrow.

benqui Posted July 5 Share #2 Posted July 5 There is a 2.8/28-70 lens from Sigma. I do not know whether you have seen it.

tjphoto Posted July 6 Share #5 Posted July 6 I have the canon 28-70 2.0 . It’s so good it’s the only canon lens that reminds me of a Leica .
Jeff S Posted July 6 Share #6 Posted July 6 And the Canon is a mere 1430g (3.15lb), 25% more than the SL 24-90, with a 95mm filter thread.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted July 6 Share #7 Posted July 6 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Sony is the same weight as the SL24-90 and better than the Canon. I would love a lens like this in L mount. Same for the FE 50-150. Gordon

Those lenses would be perfect for my work but are expensive, not to mention having to deal with the annoyance of figuring out a new system, let alone ugh Sony. Come on Sigma, make it happen.
jaapv Posted July 9 Share #10 Posted July 9 I’m a bit surprised at this wish but willing to be educated having no experience in this field. Present day cameras are so good at high ISO that lens speed can hardly be an issue. Does the work really call for one step in DOF? I would have thought that portability and agility would have been higher on the list. After all, the work has to be done over a period of time in a somewhat chaotic environment. I would have thought that portability and agility would have been higher on the list. After all, the work has to be done over a period of time in a somewhat chaotic environment. My work often involves indoor sports under lighting conditions that make 1/800, f4 and ISO 6400 files underexposed by about one stop or more. Pushing the exposure of ISO6400 files of the Panasonic S1 and S5 creates files which are usable but not optimal. Under such lighting conditions, 1/800 at f1.8 means that ISO 3200-5000 produces a well exposed result that does not require pushing exposure in post. So the wider the aperture, the better, and f2 zooms would be an absolute boon. Edited July 10 by Archiver
jaapv Posted July 10 Share #12 Posted July 10 Ah yes. As a user of S5, S5Iii, SL and SL2S would restrict my remark to the SL2S.
