I am extremely hard of hearing and do wear hearing aids. However, I have a really hard time hearing the shutter on my Q2. I was just wondering if there is a recommended setting that would give me the maximum sound. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

At least for a Q3 (not sure of it the same for a Q2) the mechanical shutter sound of the leaf shutter is what it is and can't be made louder or softer.

The electronic shutter is by default silent but can have a noise (acoustic signal) turned on.

The camera can be set to use only the mechanical shutter, only the electronic shutter or a "hybrid" where it will use one or the other depending on what setting you or the camera chooses for exposure.

If the acoustic signal of the electronic shutter, when turned on is something you can hear then using that and only having the camera expose with the electronic shutter might help.

ELECTRONIC SHUTTER SOUND

Factory setting: Off

▸ Select Camera Settings in the main menu

▸ Select Acoustic Signal

▸ Select Electronic Shutter Sound ▸ Select On

SHUTTER TYPE

The Leica Q3 comes equipped with a mechanical shutter and a purely electronic shutter function. The electronic shutter expands the available shutter area and functions completely noiseless, which may be important in some work environments.

Factory setting: Hybrid

â–¸ Select Shutter Type in the main menu

â–¸ Select the desired setting ( Mechanical , Electronic , Hybrid )

Might be the best.  I just played with the "acoustic" settings on my Q3 (had not done so before) and using the electronic shutter with the acoustic signal (which can have the volume at low or high, the volume choice is on the same menu screen as the choices for acoustic signal) I think the mechanical shutter sounded a bit louder than the electronic shutter with acoustic signal "on" and the volume at "high".
