sandro Posted April 11 Share #2 Â Posted April 11 Welcome to the forum! And you have a pretty nice way of entering the forum with some wonderful cameras and lenses. Which lenses ar they? Lex
TomB_tx Posted April 11 Share #3 Â Posted April 11 Nice find! The bodies look like early production, as the lens release "buttons" are red plastic - later change to metal for durability. My two SLs both developed weak CdS (meter) cells such that the meters could not be adjusted to be fully accurate over the full brightness range. The meter cells are a unique design, so not easy to replace. Don Goldberg (DAG Camera Repair) replaced one of mine several years ago, and noted his stock of replacements was low then. Sherry Krauter (Golden Touch) also works on these models a lot. Mine also developed out-of-spec shutter speeds: too fast as the lubricants dried (would have expected them to be slow). Although these models are pretty cheap on the used market, they are still about my favorite film SLR. Certainly worth having them serviced to get in good shape. Enjoy them! 250swb Posted April 11 Share #4 Â Posted April 11 You have a learning curve, but hopefully a very enjoyable learning curve. Well done on winning the auction but please use them before sending them to be serviced or repaired. If you send them for a simple CLA (clean, repair, adjust) you may miss other problems that are only realised in using the camera, such as light leaks, shutter speed problems, etc. You can then give the repair tech a full list (if necessary) rather than a drip drip of discovering problems. But they are fundamentally reliable cameras so put some film into them and go for it.

Which lenses ar they? Lex The lenses that came with it are Leitz Elmarit 28 F2.8, Leitz Summicron 50 F1.2 and a Leitz Elmarit 135 F2.8 I used to do film way back in high school, got away from photography and got back in to it seriously a few years ago when I was recovering from an injury but was with digital.  I fell in to the film rabbit hole with an Olympus OM10 and then started hunting for other stuff and taaadaaa I found an online website that does auction.  I did break my own rule and went $50 over my max bid which I think is still super low for 2 camera and 3 lenses
OR120 Posted April 12 Share #6 Â Posted April 12 (edited) Congratulations on your new Leicaflex cameras. I had Leicaflex SL's - then SL2's and SL2 Mot bodies. I would skip using the motor on the MOT body. When putting a new roll of film in your SL2 MOT body - you must be very carful how you load and advance the film - making sure the motor is set correctly before you fire away. But - that SL2 MOT body (minus the motor) was by far the best film SLR I ever used. A personal favorite for many years. I've just picked up a perfect/in box Leicaflex SL body for my grandson. I'm putting him on film for a while - moving him away from the digital camera he now has. It will be good for him. I'm sure your will have wonderful photos ahead with your new/old, Leicaflex bodies - enjoy!! Edited April 12 by OR120 sp
