Just picked it up with 2870. The IQ is almost on par with the APO, and the best part is how lightweight it is. I also find the focusing much better than the SL3, and the results stay impressively clean even at high ISO at attached.

SL3S with Super Apo Summicron SL 21 Asph ISO 250 1/60 sec at f7.1, -1 ev  These are the kind of exposure setting one gets in Mode P, well the negative Ex compensation was due to stronger sidelight on the right.

Train Art with the Super Apo Summicron SL 21 Asph. "Coming back" to the SL3S after a period of using the SL3 can be very insightful around the subtle differences in rendering between the two cameras. The SL3S files are quite responsive to processing adjustments including initial DeNoising tools (if required) whereas the SL3 doesn't require such treatment, well unless my low light scenes have elicited more grain than usual. So just when I had almost convinced myself that the SL3 is all the camera I will need, I am reminded of how great this SL3S performs. One cannot beat the SL3 sensor for resolution which then allows for increased cropping ability. Cropping into the SL3S files, initially look disappointing  but thats not where it ends. With certain adjustments and the good use of contrasts I am amazed with my SL3S results.
