Q3 takes longer to start after off for longer

Did anyone notice this? Both Q3 and Q3 43.

If the camera is left off for only couple of hours the startup takes a blip of second almost instantaneous. But if it’s left off for quite a long say overnight like 8 hours, the first startup takes longer like 2-3 seconds.

Almost like the camera needs some time to sober up after being inebriated for too long 🙂

not an issue but just interesting

It seems all the Qs have this kind of phenomenon .

Not really a problem but it’s a nuance. And interestingly why? Does the camera electric inside has some sort of timer and it shutdowns everything after a while? Does that mean it doesn’t really turn off when the user turns it off ?

My Q2 never had this problem, but my Q3 sure does.  The Q2 fired up almost instantly all the time independent on how long it was off. Been hoping for some sort of firmware fix but probably hardware dependent.

Are we in such a hurry that a delay of this magnitude spoils our day? 😀

David

Leica owners are prone to 1st world problems it seems.

I just turned on my Q after about a week in the bag…it did take a couple seconds.  In my five years of ownership this is the first time I noticed.

My god, all the photos I’ve probably missed 😂😂

I’m guessing its a microprocessor hardware design feature.  Perhaps “on” and “off” circuits with a different thresholds, so that some voltage remains when the camera is turned off that eventually decays completely with time.  Kinda of like the “auto off” feature.

Saw a youtuber comment on how he liked being able to transfer photos from a Q343 onto his ipad while the Leica was off. Seems there are deeper levels of off/sleep that the camera descends to after longer periods of time. Seems reasonable.

its not  a problem for me but i noticed it too.  not 5 seconds  but 2 after 10 hours switched off. More ennoying is that when you view the pictures it starts wirh the first one in stead of the last one after a while off
