Advertisement Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Hi SudaliuS, Take a look here Summilux 35mm 1.4 FLE II chromatic aberrations. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elmars Posted September 26, 2024 Share #2  Posted September 26, 2024 This is purple fringing. This happens especially with such light (high contrast) and such motifs (lots of chrome or shiny areas with highlights). But here it is quite strong.

I would suggest you save 1.4 for low light. My reference point is the V1 and non FLE ASPH though.
gotium Posted September 26, 2024 Share #4  Posted September 26, 2024 Yes, would expect this.
01af Posted September 26, 2024 Share #5 Â Posted September 26, 2024 What elmars said. Purple fringing is not chromatic aberration.

This is normal with the Summilux 35 FLE and FLE II and pretty much any non-APO fast lens when shot wide open in very high contrast scenes. This looks like a big M11 crop which makes the purple fringing more obvious. Most of the time you can fix it with the Lightroom manual lens correction eye dropper tool. Edited September 26, 2024 by Crem
SudaliuS Posted September 26, 2024 Author Share #7 Â Posted September 26, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank's to everyone. I bought Lux 35 FLE II almost in mint conditions, issued in 2023. And glad to hear that chromatic aberrations - it's a normal thing for it
52K Posted October 2, 2024 Share #8  Posted October 2, 2024 Purple fringing is normal, thought it's reasonably well controlled on this lens. Some lenses are clearly worse than others. If yours is significantly worse than other examples of the same lens, then you might have to send it back to Leica to check (takes a long time). I had a Noctilux f0.95 which initially was so bad that I felt it unusable. It went back to Leica, took 9 months but when it came back was much improved. The 35lux II should be much better than the Nocti for purple fringing. The photo you posted, does look quite bad.
