Alan Mead Posted September 22 Share #1 Posted September 22 Advertisement (gone after registration) My SL2-S has a problem. I can’t get any image through the lens, either on the rear screen or the eyepiece. Everything else works, including viewing already taken photos still on the card in the camera. I had taken several photos and turned the camera off, recharged the battery, and then inserted it after the charge. It seemed to be a long time before the light on the top screen went out. I didn’t think anything of it but the next morning when I went to use it, it didn’t work. The shutter does nothing when pressed. Any thoughts? Thanks, Alan

Le Chef Posted September 22 Share #2 Posted September 22 (edited) Change your memory card to start with. Check your battery contacts are clean. Try the spare battery if you have one. Edited September 22 by Le Chef
Alan Mead Posted September 22 Author Share #3 Posted September 22 I tried connecting remotely using Fotos and my iPhone. No image. Although the battery is recently charged I have removed it and am now recharging. Who knows.
Biotar Posted September 22 Share #4 Posted September 22 Is it okay without an objective?
LocalHero1953 Posted September 22 Share #5 Posted September 22 Asking the obvious question: is the SD card full? Try downloading all your files, then reformat the card and try again
Alan Mead Posted September 22 Author Share #6 Posted September 22 Thank you to everyone who responded. I resolved the issue! After charging the battery fully and inserting it, before turning the camera on, I removed the M adapter including the lens, then reattached it. When I turned the camera on it worked. The first thing I had tried was removing the lens. I guess I should have started with removing the adapter. Again, thanks everyone! I am so happy that like many problems in life the solution was simple and straightforward. Now back to enjoying my SL2s! Alan
