stunsworth Posted August 28, 2006 Share #11 Posted August 28, 2006 Very, good shot. Personally I'd have cropped the left to put the subject to the left and the smoke filling the rest of the frame. But that's just my personal choice, the shot works very well on its own terms.

jackart Posted August 30, 2006 Share #16 Posted August 30, 2006 Interesting subject in the middle interesting hobby. Excellent documentary, as said here earlier. I'd like to alter the composition a bit. Too centric comp. and too much air behind the main character. Good to have You back here! -jaak

semrich Posted August 30, 2006 Share #18 Posted August 30, 2006 Abhinava, A very touching photo, and a compassionate look at the human condition around the globe. To my eye, the composition is perfect just as it is with the main elements to the right of the frame, the swirling smoke, the prayerful clasping of the hands, and the distant comtemplative look in the face and eyes. The space behind him sets the scene for the movement of the persons torso entering the space adding context to it apparently being out on the street. I'm not sure from my notebook monitor if there is a defect in the scan or that is one bad scar on the left leg of the person moving into the picture.
