Fixing the Leica 14405 handgrip for film cameras

The 14405 hand grips are starting to show their age - both of my have very cracked and weathered liners in their base plates. 

Here's how you can refurbish them and give them new life.

The material in the cushion part of the grip is simply a light seal foam that you can buy in sheets and cut down to size and available from

and of course it’s useful for repairing light leaks in a camera as well
