Q3 - best case

Hi all.
Have owned my Q3 a week now and in 😍
I have a genuine half case which is great in use but would like a very compact bag for it. Bellingham, Crumpler etc? What fits well? Ideally something that doesn’t look like a handbag!

thanks in advance.

Desr Declan, welcome to the forum.

Generally, I use the neoprene cover of the M and I carry the camera in the backpak

Camera bags, even if small, are a target.

Browsing this forum you will find dozens of choices and opinions.  Personally, I prefer the ONA Bondstreet (canvas) or Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L (for a more contemporary look).  Both wear comfortably and fit the Q3 with half-case and strap.  They also have a room for an extra battery, blower, cleaning cloth and cellphone or sunglasses.  My ONA has travelled the world and has a nice patina.  I would advise against the Billingham 72; with a half case the fit is too snug in my opinion.

Ohhhh boy.  I am in the midst of a bad case of bagie-itis.  I blame my Q3 for it.  So I have the Wotan 3.5L, the ThinkTank Retrospective 7 v2, and the Billingham Hadley Pro 2020.  Like all three of them, but I use them for different purposes.  In the Wotan, I will pack my Q3, M6, flash, strap, extra batteries/film.  It is used when I go hiking.  The ThinkTank I use it mostly when I air travel.  In it, the Q3, M6, laptop, strap(s), flash, xtra batteries/film, cleaning kit, and other camera related gear.  It also comes with a rain cover. The Billingham is my fancy/schmancy about town bag.  Also used when I car travel.  Again, the Q3, M6, batteries, straps, film, flash, etc... are packed in it.  It is somewhat water proof/resistant.  As you will find out from previous and future postings, there are a lot of good/great camera bags out there.  What you will need to do is find the one(s) which meet your sensibilities and your budget.  Just my $0.02 worth.  Good luck with your search.

Billingham.  Since 2016 this bag has carried my Q and accessories daily....before that it carried my M4 kit...since 1986.

So 38 years.  The leather piping could stand to be replaced...but there aren't many bags out there that look as good after nearly 40 years.

I bought my first in 1982 and kept it until I handed it over to my father in 2002. Sadly he had left it in his attic and the mice had feasted on most of it. That was close to 40 years…I owned another Billingham bag that I sold as it could hold a small family and after I got rid of my Canon F1 gear it was no longer needed. Somehow…I have two Hadley Small Pro bags that live in rotation. You really can’t beat them: they’re the Land Rovers of camera bags.

Lim half case.

Wotancraft case (they make a 2L which fits the Q x perfectly. Their larger bags are, of course, larger). They are amazingly well made and designed and are relatively reasonably priced.
