Oh and also, when you get your Q3, if other non Leica photographers in public rag on you that you wasted money and that their other camera brand takes the same if not better photos then know one thing. Your camera will be made of metal and when it makes contact with a rude, anti Leica photographers forehead, you will have inflicted the true power of Leica on them. It's built not like a tank, but its a solid block of metal, unlike other non Leica plastic cameras.

Enjoy!!

Valuable advice, much appreciated; and all the more so because it comes gratis!

....for all intended/sharing purpose with family for them to enjoy pics on their phones/iPads/Social will this camera produce good images (Yeah may not be Fujifilm simulations but good images, better than iPhones) or have that Leica Look for which ppl buy Leica...

Most likely among your pictures viewers nobody cares, except you, if it is film simulated or not. Just as nobody else, but you, cares for "Leica Look".

Q3's picture is not going to look better on phones/pads. Visual check of image quality requires relatively large screens/prints.

As for JPEG1 only, I don't see the problem. Exposure correct? JPEG1 is 100% good for phones/pads. As long as Leica colors rendering are OK for you. But if you prefer some odd (to me) FujiFilm emulations or Sonikon (to me) odd colors, this might be the problem.  I mean, I'm not alone on this one. Many prefer Canon, FujiFilm, Leica, Olymus, Panasonic SOOC colors. Especially if glass before sensor isn't dull.

After I figured out exposure with Canon 5D and 50L, I switched to JPEG1. It was awesome SOOC colors. I did the same for Leica X2.

Where are real pros who are using, JPEG1 only, btw. For exactly the same reason as yours, they cut time wasting on PP, because they are capable of quality SOOC and here is no demand for huge prints, files with their assignments.

Q3 should be the same. It just might take time to tweak SOOC settings for your likings.

Most likely, still deciding about the color, No option for black have to pick among other 4 colors.

Have you decided yet? My Q2 jpegs are good (esp the b&w ones) and so are my M11 jpegs which might be closer to the Q3 output.

PS For me, Leica = Linn rather than Naim!

I have the Q3 with Individulization in Zinca color on hold until this Sunday, I'm almost at the last mile to decide and buy.

*Linn not bad but for me Naim any day for my taste and requirements 🤣

Sorry, but I don’t get those statements: “use RAW or buy a cheaper camera, it would be as good as the Leica”. This is simply NOT TRUE.

A  great JPG can be indistinguishable from a Raw file. Thorsten Overgaaard  and other professionals have shown that. The lens and its IQ, the resolution and other advantages will be clearly visible despite saving “only” JPGs .

I own the Q3, and the Fuji X100 VI, and I can tell you can see big differences despite JPGs. Not in sunny days with stopped down lenses but in every other situation. The Fuji does not draw out of focus areas the way  the Leica does.  AF is way faster with Leica, the haptics and joy of owning the Q3 is on another level. Is this worth the price gap? That’s a very subjective question, but don’t let anyone fool you, I guarantee you will see differences even when using JPGs. And you might like the Leica looks too.
