Let's do the 50mm at 5.6 and i really don't think we need to do the F8 series . than i need to take a break and do some things this is taking forever to do and than post the 90's up later so go ahead and post after this and I will catch up later on the same thread

Break time 90's coming up later

To my eye, the 35mm Summicron looks better than the Summarit at f4 and f5.6. If this is the case, a modern 35mm Summicron ASPH will probably out perform the 35mm Summarit by a greater margin.

The Cron IV has more CA, I think. It just has a little glow or something, which can be positive or negative. In the end I prefer the Summarit, I think. I will compare one with my 35 Lux Asph once they arrive at my dealer.

I see a difference in exposition. The Summilux seems to be a bit overexposed. Maybe a difference in light transmission between lenses?

Me too. All the Summarit shots seem to be a little underexposed in comparison. Does that mean that their apertures are not quite what they say they are, or is there some other explanation for that?

Exactly the Lux tends to be over just a wee bit and 1.4 a little more

Bill not really but what i have noticed is i have yet to blow out a exposure yet on the summarits , it seems they maybe better matched to the M8. These lenses seem to be designed with digital in mind, With the specular hightlights a little lower and the mid -tone a little more spread out, they tend to have a flatter look to them. Although still nicely saturated . I am going to put the 90's up here in a few minutes

Okay let's continue on with the 90's . okay shoot me but the 90 cron is out just a little also. i tried getting it just right in the field but the 90 is a tough bear to get critical, I know the 90 apo is a killer lens , i have hundreds of awesome sharp images from it and i think it front focused a little here even checking the LCD several times to make sure. oh well sorry folks but the rest of the data is still very valid but by F4 it is all good so lets get the 90 going

 

90 cron at F2 since there is no comparison here let's get all three sections up at F2 on the Cron.

 

 

If you want to wait until i get them up that would be nice before posting
