weatherproof Posted February 26, 2024 Share #71 Posted February 26, 2024 That silver 12504 works so well with the silver lense in contrast to the plastic square hood.
atmaka Posted February 26, 2024 Share #72 Posted February 26, 2024 Not mine (yet), saw these at my local dealer. Love the left one because it’s silver chrome brass, love the right one for the hood design but it’s silver anodized aluminium. Can’t decide. Any suggestions? Welcome, dear visitor! Similar decision I had to make last week: haptics of version 1 vs (supposedly) slightly improved iq and hood design of the more recent version 2. Being biased in favor of version 1, decision-making got easy the moment I was shown a v1 with focus tab as well as hood in silver chrome. Your 50 'lux looks beautiful btw! Ivan Goriup Posted February 27, 2024 Share #79 Posted February 27, 2024 My collection of M lenses I accumulated when I switched over to digital M bodies from the black film M6 TTL I worked with for years. When I purchased the M-P body, a silver version was the only one my local Leica dealer had on stock and I needed it later that day, and luckily the same dealer at the time only had one 35mm Summicron left in stock and it happened to be in silver, I decided that was as good a reason/excuse as any to flesh out the collection ordering only silver M lenses from that moment on. A non-sequitur, I don't believe the 21mm 3.5 ever was made in silver, but I remember it being the best ultra-wide I ever used, right up to the moment I got the sensational 16-35 S.V.E. for the SL. Ivan Goriup Posted February 27, 2024 Share #80 Posted February 27, 2024 Later on in my digital M 'phase' I supplemented the Summicron with a new 1.4 Summilux Asph. FLE - the best every-day, 'leave-it-on-the-camera' M lens I ever owned. Oh, one more thing........never, ever, sell an M lens, whether you own an M body or not. I still have all of my M lenses and use them occasionally on my SLs via the Leica adapter. They offer image quality one simply cannot duplicate, let alone exceed with any other glass.
