Steve Ricoh Posted January 12, 2024 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2024 I would like to know more about the lens.
oldwino Posted January 12, 2024 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2024 I think we’ll know a lot more about this project very soon. Could be very attractive if it sticks to the price point suggested in the JCH article.
Steve Ricoh Posted January 12, 2024 Share #6 Posted January 12, 2024 I had my Rollei 35 LED serviced a few years ago. No problem with scale focus as long as I remember, but wide at f2.8 needs a lot of attention.
AndreasAM Posted January 12, 2024 Share #7 Posted January 12, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve, it was the same experience for me. It’s focussing ‘limits’ was, when using it in the field, it’s strength. Simple, analogue use, tack sharp. Never had any problem with it. Took it around the world in 70’s, 80’s and 90’s as a backup to my R6.2/R7 kit. Small, built like (half) a brick, with the same heft and density as a modern day iPhone… Edited January 12, 2024 by AndreasAM
LocalHero1953 Posted January 12, 2024 Share #8 Posted January 12, 2024 My wife still has a 35B somewhere. What would be really interesting would be if they could make a full frame digital camera that size. That would finally demonstrate that the so-called miniaturisation strength of modern electronics had delivered on its promise.
andybarton Posted January 13, 2024 Share #9 Posted January 13, 2024 I’d buy one if they could do that. I have my M2 if I’m ever tempted to go back to film (haven’t been in nine years, so far, though)
