I lost mine; bought a new for 80€ (or something like that) at a Leica store, left it carefully in its box, and made an erzatz in a piece of PVC. Fully functionnal, costs nothing; I made one for each lens I own that has this type of cap.

A 3D model can be smarter but for me these are OK.

Otect, a small company in the Netherlands, sells nice endcaps for some of Leica's square hoods (but not yet the 28 'lux-M). In the past Otect had indicated to me that a similar product for the 28 'lux-M was forthcoming, and this post inspired me to check in with them again about it just now. If others would be interested in the same, please also contact them to let them know this would be a cool product to bring to market.
