Kim Dahl Posted November 20, 2023 Share #3 Â Posted November 20, 2023 I have the APO 35mm M and have tried the APO 35mm SL on a Leica SL2 and I have tried my APO 35mm M on the Leica SL2. Leica M and APO 35mm M work best for me. In terms of quality, the two optics are practically very similar. Maybe theoretically the SL version is better. But in practice not. The difference is AF for the Leica SL2. Â
cj3209 Posted November 21, 2023 Share #4  Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) There was another thread on this topic. I own the 35 apo-M and 35 apo-SL. For me, the lenses are similar on an SL2 body; the difference being size and AF. Cost and availability is another factor; the 35 apo-M is hard to get and commands a high price of $8K new and $7k used. The 35 APO-SL is more reasonable at around $5k new and $3K used. If you only have an SL body, I would get the 35 APO-SL unless you absolutely need a smaller setup or have an M-body that can use the 35 apo-M. I only got the 35 apo-M because I thought I was going to go strictly M-body but that changed.  🤔 My two cents - cheers!
