I just received this used 28 Summaron. The photos are great. But I’m just noticing that the focus tab, or lever, is ever so slightly bent upwards.

Is this normal? Is it part of the design of the lens? I’m not seeing it reflected in pictures of the lens online.

Is it the original version for screw mount or the remake with M-bayonet?

For the original screw-mount version you need an adapter which triggers the framelines for 28/90m. Most original Leitz adapters were only made for 90mm lenses which were much more frequent than 28mm. But for 28mm you need a much rarer adapter which has a spareout to enable the focus tab to move to the infinity position, which is blocked by the other adapter. The "90mm only" is on the left, the "28/90mm" o the right:

So perhaps the original owner didn't have the right adapter and he slightly bent the focus tab that it could be set to infinty.  Though with a modern digital M camera this manipulation might even have an advantage: the adpater on the left covers the camera's sensor for lens detection. The M11 will cause problems if this sensor is not covered, as one may learn in other threads about the new firmware; with other digital M models you have to switch off lens detection to be able to use LiveView.   With the sensor for lens detection covered you may even use a a specific lens profile for the 28mm Summaron which you can choose manually from the list.
