But the focus ring is very sluggish to turn. Anyway to loosen it up? Edited November 9, 2023 by kivis
Advertisement Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Hi kivis, Take a look here Leica 90mm F/2.8 Tele-Elmarit M-Mount Lens, Canada, Black/Slim {E39} 11800. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted November 10, 2023 Share #22 Â Posted November 10, 2023 Same flare issue on both Canadian and German versions of my "thin" TE. The Rokkor 90/4 has not this problem but is only f/4. Only compact f/2.8 competitors are the "fat" T-E i have no experience with and the Apo-Skopar 90/2.8 which has less flare but more CA than the thin T-E. I use preferably a Macro-Elmar 90/4 when i need compactness or an Elmarit 90/2.8 v2 when bulk is not an issue. FWIW.

Anyway to loosen it up? My two copies are butter smooth. Seems like yours needs some CLA. You may wish to ask DAG If you live in the USA.

I had this lens for over fifteen years and sold it in the mid 2000s.  I had used it with my M6.  I recently bought another to use on a Leica M10r.  I still like it a lot.  I previously had an Elmarit 90 mm f2.8, which I had bought new.  It is a better lens but heavier and might be a better choice.  Although I primarily shoot with my 35 mm Summicron for street shots, I like to carry this with me when I travel,  I  think if you can find a good copy with no haze, you will be pleased.
