DreiPunkte Posted October 12, 2023 Share #1  Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) A fresh hello to all Iam new here and start just with two questions. 1. Is the mentioned finder complete made from metal?  The buttens for the adjustments looks like plastik on the Pictures. 2.Is there enough space around the the 16mm framelines to frame the 12mm CV with little "beef" around? Thanks for any answer  Edited October 12, 2023 by DreiPunkte
Advertisement Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Hi DreiPunkte, Take a look here Two questions about the wideanglefinder 12011 aka "Frankenfinder". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted October 12, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted October 12, 2023 1. Yes, it's metal and the buttons are plastic. 2. Never owned the CV 12mm but based on how little space is left on the edges of the 16mm framelines I doubt this would work. Hope this helps.
DreiPunkte Posted October 12, 2023 Author Share #3 Â Posted October 12, 2023 Thanks Ecar, this helps me alot. Now have to rethink my plan to use the 12011 as the only viewfinder on my MD-2 UW to wideanlgle setup. Maybe its better to use a single Viewfinder vor each Lens. I find its poor to find plastic buttons on the top notch viewfinder made in Wetzlar.
Ecar Posted October 13, 2023 Share #4 Â Posted October 13, 2023 Agree on a VF matched to each lens. It will also be smaller. TBH the plastic buttons don't feel cheap.
DreiPunkte Posted October 13, 2023 Author Share #5 Â Posted October 13, 2023 Yes that's the way I will go. Yes, the single VF on the camera is much smaler, on the other side several viewfinder in the bag make more husle in the bag.

I had a Frankenfinder and it is good, but its huge and on an M body it looks and feels very awkward. I now use the small viewfinders which are IMO much better in actual use. One solution to retain them in a bag is top but plastic flash mounts and make a strip to which they can be attached and then slot the viewfinders into them. I have even tried fitting a viewfinder flash shoe onto an M lens backcap and this works tolerably well too.
DreiPunkte Posted October 13, 2023 Author Share #7 Â Posted October 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, the idea of a box with mounted shoes is aalso my favored solution. I wil look out for a matching box.
sebben Posted October 14, 2023 Share #8  Posted October 14, 2023 It also has huge barrel distortion.
