Bill Hartung Posted October 10, 2023 Share #1  Posted October 10, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had this experience? Yesterday I noticed the front ring of my 35mm summicron M is loose, so that it rotates freely. This is the ring that features the index mark for setting the f stops and the female threads for mounting filters. It doesn't feel loose in any other way, just turns without any click or other sense of stopping. Otherwise, the lens is sound and performing normally. Advertisement Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Hi Bill Hartung, Take a look here Something odd on my M 35mm Summicron. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pgk Posted October 11, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted October 11, 2023 It sounds as though a locking screw has loosened and the front ring is therefore allowed to rotate. I'm sure that there are threads on this already so try searching through the forum.
28framelines Posted October 11, 2023 Share #3  Posted October 11, 2023 I’m assuming this is the 35mm Summicron ASPH Mk 1 (also referred to as the v5)? If so, I believe it’s a common problem but also a pretty simple fix
