Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well. Happy Friday! I recently picked up the E55 version of the Elmarit-M 135mm f2.8 with the goggles. Wide open focusing seems to be okay for anything around 2-3m away, but when I focus on anything further away through the rangefinder and goggles, things don't match up and seem to be back focusing. Other lenses are fine, so I don't think it's my camera's rangefinder mechanism.

I was wondering if anyone has experience anything of a similar nature before, and if so, what might a solution be? I don't want to use my Visoflex, which is why I'd rather have ideas about what might be happening in terms of the mechanical process / anything I can do to minimise errors in case it is me.

Many thanks in advance, as always!

@TomB_tx, thanks for your thoughts. I dug out the Visoflex to see what was going on / how far off was the rangefinder mechanism and it wasn't too bad, but when you're shooting with a 135mm, things a lot less forgiving than with a wide angle.

So I also decided to slap on a 35mm and compare the rangefinder focus vs the Visoflex. Turns out that actually the camera's rangefinder is just a little bit off. It didn't look it due to the nature of using a wide angle lens, but if I used the Visoflex and zoomed in, you can clearly see rangerfinder in focus isn't perfectly in focus on the Visoflex... and the difference is actually by about the same amount that the 135mm is off!

Looks like I'm bringing my camera into Leica to ask them to adjust it for me then!
