M11 Lightroom import error

HI All,

Have searched online but can't find many solutions to this problem.

For the last month or so all imports from my M11 have been giving me the following error when importing into LR.

My SL2/Q2 do not have this issue only files coming from the M11.

I am on firmware 1.6.1.

I have tried 2 different sandisk SD cards and now a Lexar pro and all have the same issue.

Even got this error when copying files first to local HD and importing that way...

It's not life or death by any means, but before reseting camera etc... any tips or tricks?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Jan

I had the same once some weeks ago. Importing the remainder a second time worked flawlessly. I haven‘t found any reason yet.I am using a Mac Studio with latest MacOS and most recent LrC using an USB-C connected Lexar card reader. I store a second copy on NAS during import. It could be related to the last LrC update… but this is just guess right now. I am ruling out the M11 right now.

Thanks Johannes, same with me, it works on second, and depending on number of files 3 time importing...

Hope it gets fixed soon.

Occasionally I get this same error with importing directly from the SD card. It's a Lightroom thing. Not a M11 issue.

Lightroom and Photoshop alike have chronic bugs on MacOS that are not a priority for Adobe to fix. Adobe pushes features much more not bug fixes.

It is likely a memory issue in Lightroom. Check your RAM and your folder settings.

Thanks all for the replies, will check to see if any of these issues help.

And sorry for originally posting in the wrong sub forum...

Have a good day!

I must say that I had the same thing recently. I certainly have no memory or other hardware issue (I hope anyway). I restarted the Mac Studio and I had no such issues since.

But yesterday when strating Lightroom Classic an error message came up saying that there were problems with read/write access to some folders. I pressed on "repair"-button and Lightroom Classic stared without any issues. Problem seems to be resolved. I looked then up in Adobe help sites. There I saw which files need read/write access. But on my Mac all folders were fine anyway (I never toughed there anything anyway).

As others said I assume/hope that there are some Adobe problems that might disappear with next release. Its a bit annoying and frightening at the same time. I have Apple hardware that is less than a year old. That can hardly be the problem.

In a few weeks we will get the new Apple Operating system. I have great respect to that change too early. I probably will wait for the next or the after next release somtimes in early 2024. It might happen that Adobe is not fully up to date yet and that this might cause issues in the beginning. To me a well working Lightroom Classic is more important than the most recend Apple feature on my Mac.

In my experience Adobe has been struggling with Silicon chips and Ventura from the very beginning. Especially the Bridge import module was affected. A bug in this department would not come as a huge surprise to me.

Well, I hope that this can be resolved. Today I got the error message again and I found out that it re-appears whenever I restart Lightroom Classic. In the error message field the is a button: "Do not show any more" or something like that. I presed "Do not show . . ." and the problem is solved 😆.

Was the question that Lightroom does not have access to default folders despite correct settings in the operating system? This is an error message that has been around for a long time, usually after an update of the operating system. You can ignore it.

First came this message unfortunately I have it in German only: Its about missing writing rights . . .

After having pressed "repair in order to continue" a second error message turned up: Its says that the rights can not be set automatically but have to be set manually:

I pressed onto "further informations" and came to this site:

https://helpx.adobe.com/ch_de/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-basic-troubleshooting-fix-most-issues.html#Troubleshootuseraccountpermissions

I then went from one folder to the next and checkt the rights that were set: I could not find anything tat was wrongly set . . .

Subsequently I got the 2 error messages every time that I opened Lightroom Classic. As you can see in the first message there is a field that you can tick: "Nicht erneut prüfen" (Do not check again). I ticked this field and the problem was gone . . .

This problem just came up just a few days ago. I do not know what has changed (Mac System). The way it is "solved" at the moment is not satisfactory at all.

I restarted my mac (had not done so in quite a while) and my next import worked perfectly... 🤷‍♂️

That is excellent.

I experienced something very similar as I wrote above.

Danke! Das ist doch wohl etwas anderes, als ich im Kopf hatte.

Wow!  I thought it was me.  Adding files to my catalog isn't working just right.  They import then never show in the catalog.  They are in "pictures" so not lost.  Haven't yet approached Adobe. Using Apple Studio.
