travischan Posted September 11, 2023 Share #1  Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a M10R BP, 35 APO and 50 Lux ASPH. Considering the 50 APO and the M6 set are both around the same price, which one is more reasonable to pick and why? The APO is limited to 300 while the number of the M6 sets (including 35 and 50 with matching serials) is I guess 2000.  These 2 are not comparable I know but I still would like to hear your personal thoughts. grahamc Posted September 11, 2023 Share #2  Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) FWIW I think there were 2000 Millennium cameras (maybe each lens too although I'm not sure) but a much smaller amount than 2000 would have been offered as full sets with matching serials between the Body , the 50:1.4 & 35:2 and stayed together.   It's rare to see them offered together with the matching serials across the set so lots of bodies/35s/50s must've been sold as single items.   Edited September 11, 2023 by grahamc

Original from leica, no idea how he got them. So there's probably much more than 2000, unofficially, if official serials don't matter to you. I used the top plates to build some modded M7s with an M3 rewind known instead of the crank. Those came without serial if i am correct…

Nachapon Dumrongthumavoot Posted September 24, 2023 Share #6  Posted September 24, 2023 (edited) Hi hope this help, I also have the 50 APO LHSA BP and while the finish and handling is superb, i find that with its hood on, the lens is really long and with it being all brass, make the camera a little front heavy. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Using it together with MP3, it make the combo a little bit imbalance. But other than that, this is one phenomenal lens. Me and some other user on IG also notice that the color this lens produce also a little different than the usual APO as well but maybe it just us want to justify our purchase lol. As for m6 millennium, i also have one and the 50 1.4 v3. For me this set if buying separately here in Thailand, it will be a lot cheaper and a lot easier to find. So in term of rarity, i think 50 APO LHSA is a lot less common to come out into market at a reasonable price while the millennium set is much more common here. If your seller is from Thailand by any chance, i think i might know which seller you are dealing with since this seller just got a whole set with matching number for millennium set and 50 APO LHSA BP for sales. Cheers and hope you have a good day. Also sorry for my terrible english. Edited September 24, 2023 by Nachapon Dumrongthumavoot
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
