I am thinking of getting a new lens for my film camera and I want to shoot it wide open but wish to have a light reducer ND filter so I can shoot wide open in daylight.   Any suggestions and how many stops does it reduce the light by? thanks...

This is a simple chart that may be helpful for you, I have generally stuck with B+W ND Filters, bit I'm sure there will be other suggestions.
