Hello Leica enthusiasts!

I recently stumbled upon a collection of vintage Leica Summicron advertisements from years gone by. These posters are not only a testament to the craftsmanship and elegance of Leica lenses but also offer a glimpse into the rich history of Leica itself.

It is good to see, printed in Leica’s own words, that the Summicrons’ performance “surpasses” the high-speed lenses, as long ago as the 1960s. The next time someone asks why a number of historically-significant professional photographers have tended to prefer Summicron lenses, more than Summilux lenses, these advertisements can serve as exemplars.

Yes, I've also read on Ken Rockwell's website that the Summicron was indeed designed as the highest-quality lens from Leica in terms of image quality. This is unlike the Noctilux and Summilux, which are optimized for low-light photography. But now, the Apo-Summicron has become the sharpest lens in Leica's lineup, surpassing the Summicron.
