steve_l Posted November 16, 2007 Share #121  Posted November 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow - I'm glad I brought this one up again!  YES YES YES to all changes  and if Leica is worried that some may not like these functions, they could make the whole scheme be enabled through a menu selection, so people who want it the way it is now for some reason could have it that way. nubins Posted November 16, 2007 Share #127 Â Posted November 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Owner since 10/07 and would love quick access to these features. A few less button presses to think about when I am shooting. Â Thanks Sean for bringing this up.
pascal_meheut Posted November 16, 2007 Share #128 Â Posted November 16, 2007 I support Sean's suggestions too. However, I also agree with Mark: I prefer the M8 to stay as simple to use as possible and I would like any solution to respect the spirit of the camera, i.e. no need to read the manual. fuchs Posted November 16, 2007 Share #134  Posted November 16, 2007 Owner since Dec 06 and Oct 07  Yes to the changes, especially EV compensation.  The faster and simpler method to perform EV compensation IMO would be to hold the shutter button at the "exposure lock" point and to rotate the control wheel, clockwise to -EV and counterclockwise to +EV, as implemented on the Canon pro dslrs  EV compensation when needed needs to be FAST and without taking the eye away from the finder!  Ed
scjohn Posted November 17, 2007 Share #135 Â Posted November 17, 2007 These are GREAT ideas. I am particularly fond of the "reassign the protect button" option. I admit I DO occassionally protect images but I do so during "down time" to protect against possible accidental deletions while shooting. I would much rather have the protect option dropped into a menu with either film speed or exp. adj. moved into the handy "one click" position "protect" currently and undeservedly enjoys. bradreiman Posted November 17, 2007 Share #138 Â Posted November 17, 2007 I think these would be practical options for the m8. Although I personally don't need this type of control for my work I wouldn't be opposed to their implementation so I suppose my vote would be a yes. I own two m8 bodies.
