Summicron 50mm (v2) or 'rigid' as your main lens

The Planar is not more aggressive than some modern Leica lenses to be honest, with the added benefit of little flare at a reasonable price. The Planar has just a bit of focus shift, but Summicron v4 and v5 are hardly better in that. The Planar is a great lens definitely so when i need a sharp 50 i tend to bring it instead of a Summicron 50/2 apo. Only con (or pro) is the Zeiss look but it is a matter of taste. Not the genius of a Summicron v1 or v2 for sure but it is a matter of taste too, some people don't like their lower contrast which is rather an advantage for tweakings in PP to me. YMMV.

It’s my favorite 50mm so definitely feel it can be your only lens : ) Here’s some shots I took today with it, at f2 on the M10P

One more. Quite sharp and beautiful out of focus areas. Plus a pleasure to use, perfect focus throw and light.
