Summilux 80

I have had both (twice each!) and am now very happily settled with the 80R. As everyone says, it is two lenses in one - a wonderfully characterful portrait lens down to about f2, a very sharp general-purpose short tele from about f4. They are both very fine; I find the 80 marginally more ethereal and 'dreamy' wide-open and colour is just maybe a tad richer - I'm not sure about that. The 80 is definitely cheaper (specially if you already have an adapter for M or SL to R) - though it seems to have nearly doubled in price since I bought my second one two or three years ago. I think I saw one the other day for sale at Red Dot Cameras in London. It's definitely one of my favourite lenses.

The two faces of this lovely lens, both on M10 with the Leica M to R adapter.  Wide open:

I use the 80R on my SL2-S for portraits in studio -- it is a great lens (also use on my R6.2). One of the few lenses I would never part with. I tend not to walk around with because it is heavy. So, it goes with me for a specific task, but stays home on trips and walkabouts.
