digitalcake Posted June 27, 2023 Share #1  Posted June 27, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello! First post here. Today while getting ready to go out I saw this smudge on my version 3 Elmarit which wouldn't come off. Turns out it wasn't on the front element and is only visible at certain angles... I don't clean the lens often and I always use the hood. I developed two days ago and the negatives looked fine. But perhaps this spot appeared more recently. Anyone seen something similar to this? I can't seem to find anything online. Thanks Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! wda Posted June 27, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted June 27, 2023 It looks like internal reflections to me. Unless it affects your results, I wouldn't worry.

I agree in normal use. However, if you are examining to buy, shine light through the dismounted lens at every angle and expect perfection. The seller will always say it doesn't affect your photos....can be somewhat true, but usually part of a sales pitch learned as a salesman on a used car lot. spydrxx Posted June 27, 2023 Share #6 Â Posted June 27, 2023 Agree...unless it affects your photos, don't worry about it. Most minor issues never affect photos unless they are enormously enlarged and printed for exhibition purposes.

Regards, Ron I said never check YOUR lenses.  But if buying someone else's?  I'm gonna be shining a laser beam through that puppy and haggle the price down to the price of a Happy Meal. 1
