Bit of a bummer. While changing my lens and putting it in a pouch, the little string of the pouch flew out. Everything dropped straight (like a brick) on the street. No cosmetic damage to be seen, but focus is now super heavy. Guess I will send my lens for a cla….
Normally I always bring one lens, but on holidays in Italy visiting a town today, I thought let’s bring two… aarghhhh

A couple years ago I dropped my 35 Summicron (v2) about 3 feet to a wood floor, and the focus was binding some. Sent it to DAG who fixed the focus, but he noted some separation had started at the edges between cemented elements. Back then Leitz uses Canadian Balsam for cement, and a drop often caused separation.

I still use the lens, even with the issue.

I did the same thing with mine. It is my favorite lens and I freaked out. After I calmed down I spoke with Sherry Krauter owner of Golden Touch Camera Repair and sent it off to her. It came back to me in excellent working and cosmetic condition.

Al is not lost...best of luck,

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago. Sent the lens to DAG and when it came back it was better than I remembered it as new. The camera body went to Sherry who had to replace the range/viewfinder, and she too did a great job. Hpefully your repair will be as successful as mine were.

Good luck with it.

You are so lucky to have Will and Cathy. Brexit paperwork put them off dealing with UK customers unfortunately. One of the hidden benefits🤮.
