Throughout the book, Klara (an "Artificial Friend") and Josie develop a very strong friendship. However, I could not find anything remotely looking like an Artificial Friend... So Peppa Pig. Since I was taking liberty with the scene, I also asked my daughter to turn her back as if she were leaving. Trying to recreate the mood... We took many good photographs over the next six or seven years before she moved in with my friend. She stayed with him for more than 40 years. But sadly he died a couple of years ago and she returned to me. This portrait of M3 and friends was taken a few days ago with a 1934 Bright Chrome Leica 111 + Visoflex 1 + 135mm Hektor lens head in short focussing mount, approx 5 seconds at f22.
