Need help in finding a summicron front cap

I got a summicron, 50mm, the second version, on e-bay. It's from 1982.
It's perfect, but the front cap is missing.
The seller, very correctly, reported it.
At first, I didn't pay attention, thinking that I could buy it easily on e-bay.
..... but no, I can't find any.
Can somebody please help me in finding one?

Loads of Chinese copies on e Bay. I have some of these copies in E49 and A36 size and they are quite good. The metal is not the same as an original Leitz cap but you would only see the difference if you had an original to compare and they fit well.

I assumed you were asking about the 50mm rangefinder lenses, but I see you have posted this in the R system area. There are some but more difficult to find, I could do with three to go over the reversed lenshoods on my 50mm and 35mm R lenses.

Exactly. It's a summicron 50mm, 2" version

KEH has an inventory of various lens caps.  You may want to check their website.

Another possible source:  Don Goldberg, dagcam@chorus.net.   He has some miscellaneous parts listed on his website.  If you don't see the Summicron lens cap, its still worth asking in an email at the above address.

a - On my Summicron-R 50mm, I use cap 14289 in E55 spring loaded.

Only use this cap when the sliding hood is collapsed.

 

b - If you do not find original cap, just use E55 generic cap.

Finding push on cap would be hard.
