pgk Posted May 23, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) This appears to be an underrated lens to me. So here's a shot to start the thread off (wide-open at f/2.5 despite the exif suggesting otherwise, and very slightly cropped). Please add yours. Welcome, dear visitor! She may look cute but ...... today I went outside to find her on the drive happily eating a large mouse, head first; delightful. And last week she had obviously found a spot which the deer like because we removed about a dozen ticks from her (we treat her so they won't survive). Sticky tape is very useful as they had not bitten. So 'cute' is not the word that comes immediately to mind. But she is great fun. 2

Chris Nebard Posted May 25, 2023 Share #12 Posted May 25, 2023 The Summarit 75 is one of my favourite ever lenses. I posted this shot once before on another thread, so apologies, but it’s heavily cropped, stopped down to get the sun-star, and gives a good idea of what it’s capable of. Great lens for me 👍 Welcome, dear visitor! pgk Posted May 25, 2023 Author Share #13 Posted May 25, 2023 1 hour ago, Chris Nebard said: The Summarit 75 is one of my favourite ever lenses. I have owned both the 75mm Summilux and Summicron lenses but the Summarit has a lot going for it in terms of optical abilities, ergonomics, weight and size. It has pleasant 'bokeh' which is neither harsh nor too soft. Its wide open performance is very acceptable, and its overall 'character' is reasonably neutral. All-in-all its a very useful lens and I'm leaning towards thinking that for me it is my best choice of 75mm. 6-bit and can be (currently) bought for very reasonable prices too. What is not to like (ok, except the rubber grip which some do not care for)?
Ray Vonn Posted May 25, 2023 Share #14 Posted May 25, 2023 My ownership of a Nikon Z6 + 85mm F1.8 Z make this lens a bit redundant (unless I'm looking to duplicate gear) but I have to say I'm very pleased this thread was started as I've never seen this Summarit demonstrated to this extent - I can see what a great lens it is.
pgk Posted May 25, 2023 Author Share #15 Posted May 25, 2023 And since its that time of year and the light was right this evening to snap the acer by our gate, here it is on the 75mm Summarit, wide open I think. Danner Posted May 26, 2023 Share #19 Posted May 26, 2023 This lens is one I am considering. These images look very good, and it would be handy to split the focal length gap between 50mm and 90mm. Also, seems like 75mm would be a very good candidate for a two-lens day-kit, 28/75 or 35/75 in particular.
espelt Posted May 26, 2023 Share #20 Posted May 26, 2023 I like the lens very much. Most of all, I appreciate the size. It is very handy with very good performance and is the perfect complement to the 35 when traveling. People, details or once - the thread started with this - the cat. If he keeps still...
