midn8 Posted May 23, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I guess/hope this question is superfluous... but I ask it anyway... 😁 When I turn/tilt my Summicron-SL 35 (non APO) in my hand something inside moves and rattles clearly. Even if mounted to the switched off camera. When the camera is switched on this "thing" seems apparently locked and nothing is loose anymore. Since the lens does not have a stabilizer I suspect it is some sort of moving "focus element" and ultimately the described behaviour is just normal or constructional? I have created a video to illustrate this (increase volume if necessary): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zlonKz05fo9iL2s5GB7tSx4IOyyoWWIK/view?usp=sharing What are your experiences with this lens? Thanks in advance, midn8

Mikko Kankainen Posted May 23, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2023 Same noise in my unit, so no worries.
hellobrandonscott Posted May 25, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 25, 2023 Even the APO ones does this ever so slightly. TBH most lenses of most brands I've owned have done this.
