OldMan Posted May 19, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don’t get me wrong, I think that the D-Lux 7 is a remarkable compact camera (I own one), but I’ve noticed that some photos posted on Facebook by users have an unpleasant (to my eye) sort of plasticky (for want of a better word) unnatural look to them. I’ve had something similar happen to an image or two of mine. Is this a processing issue, a film simulation issue (obviously JPEG only), or something else? Anyone else notice this and know the reason?
Advertisement Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Hi OldMan, Take a look here D-Lux 7 - Plasticky Images. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rjans Posted May 19, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) I haven't noticed it yet on my fairly recently purchased D-Lux 7. The D-Lux 7's default jpeg settings can be adjusted to your liking. There is useful information on the Leica Camera Australia YouTube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/@LeicaCameraAustralia/videos ) about the various settings of the D-Lux 7. Personally I have made some changes to the default settings. However I always shoot RAW + jpeg. I'm satisfied with the jpegs but I usually use the RAW images when the jpegs offer too little room for improvement in editing. pixeljohn22 Posted May 20, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2023 I'm currently looking at the D Lux 7 to supplement my much larger Sony gear. If you'd be willing to share your thoughts on the camera I would appreciate getting some real world input before I pull the trigger. Thank you.
