I did some test shots when i got my SL2 using - same as you -  my dad's numerous model trains.
Some of the photos where macro showing how detailed some of them are made.

It was a series to test the new Godox flashes who gave me troubles with TTL and i needed to return them and get the V100 and they work well,
so illumination is not best ... But when i am back in Zurich i may do it again and all of his model trains, i guess he would be happy to see them.
