tester23 Posted May 2, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted May 2, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Â I need to find some parts for Summicron 35 V4. Specifically optics. Leica told me that they can do the "best effort" regarding the calibration and cleaning, but they don't have new parts for this lens. Do you know maybe someone that I could ask for the glass parts of this lens? I need an internal group (2nd group which contains lenses 2 and 3 of the whole assembly)

jaapv Posted May 2, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted May 2, 2023 I cannot help you, but as Leica matches the elements of the lens during building, you will never reach the same quality, unless you are very lucky.
tester23 Posted May 2, 2023 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 2, 2023 Let's see what they send me back. But I have 2nd group that started showing coating degradation and it's between sealed glass parts Before attempting the impossible, I sent it for repair there, plus usual calibration etc. It will be expensive experiment. tommonego@gmail.com Posted May 2, 2023 Share #4  Posted May 2, 2023 My old 35mm pre asph Summilux was damaged by a repair place not reassembling it correctly, while it was matching with the rangefinder infinity was way off. I asked the repairperson to recollimate the lens, and he said I had to send it to Don Goldberg (DAG) to get that done. The lens had other issues it seems, Don replaced parts two months later I had a lens that was much better than it had ever been.
tester23 Posted May 3, 2023 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 3, 2023 (edited) thanks - if it comes back from leica in not enough quality, I will probably reach out to DAG. edit: just checked that DAG is US based. I should probably find something similar in EU as I am in Europe Edited May 3, 2023 by tester23
