mujk Posted May 1, 2023 Share #21 Â Posted May 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Most newer Leica M gear have a tendency to be "overpriced" if you only look at the price/technical performance ratio. There are other, not easily measurable factors that affects the choice of a Leica. So after you have found your favourite focal length(s) I don't see any reason not to buy the best lens you can afford that fulfils your other requirements for this focal length, although it is coverpriced from an objective standpoint. I also don't see any imbalance in using cheaper lenses for less used focal lengths.

kivis Posted June 17, 2023 Share #22 Â Posted June 17, 2023 Perfectly happy with my CV selection and my one Leica the 'Cron 50mm. But I am getting the "Joneses" for this little guy.
Vlad Soare Posted June 17, 2023 Share #23  Posted June 17, 2023 The FLE is absolutely fabulous. You may or may not feel that you need it, but I'm sure you will regret selling it. Don't. Here the sun was directly in front of me, I could actually see it in the viewfinder. And yet there's not even the slightest trace of flare, no loss of contrast or colour or detail or anything whatsoever. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the scan. It's downright amazing. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Most 35mm lenses can take a good picture in normal conditions. It's these abnormal conditions that make the difference.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Vlad Soare Posted June 17, 2023 Share #24  Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) Another example, wide open. Nothing challenging from a technical point of view this time, but still an extremely nice and creamy rendering of the out-of-focus areas. This is a lovely lens. Welcome, dear visitor! rramesh Posted June 17, 2023 Share #25  Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) The thing with Leica lenses is that you don’t lose much in value if you sell it a few years from now. Why, you might even make a profit. With other brands not so.  Having said that, you can take great photos with pretty much any lens.   So the decision is yours to make based on your need and affordability. Edited June 17, 2023 by rramesh
Vlad Soare Posted June 17, 2023 Share #26 Â Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) Any Leica item that you sell now will be more expensive in the future, when you decide to buy it back. Please note I said 'when', not 'if'. Edited June 17, 2023 by Vlad Soare
